Think of Profhilo as a super moisturiser for your skin.

Rather than changing the shape of your face or relaxing your muscles, Profhilo delivers deep hydration into your skin, deeper than any topical serum can.  

Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of pure hyaluronic acid on the market to help moisturize the skin by targeting multiple layers to restore firmness, tone and elasticity. When Profhilo is injected into the skin it helps the skin to hold on to water more effectively. 

Benefits of Profhilo

Profhilo works differently than fillers and other anti-ageing injectable treatments.

Profhilo doesn’t mask the imperfections but instead gets to the core of remedying them, by actively stimulating and encouraging your own body to produce collagen and elastin.

In addition, Profhilo does not contain synthetic additives, such as 1,4-Butanediol Diglycidyl. Therefore minimizing further the risk of side effects.

It is recommended prior to Profhilo treatment, aspirin and other anti-inflammatories should be avoided; along with fish oil, multivitamins and vitamin E for at least one day prior as they can increase the appearance of bruising after treatment.

Profhilo Treatment: what to expect

You will have a series of 5 injections on each side of your mid to lower face with approximately 2ml of Hylodronic acid-base. Injections will be just below the skin.

Profhilo can treat the following areas:

• Face
• Neck
• Hands/arms
• Décolleté.

The treatment is typically administered over the course of two sessions, within a period of one month.

You will not be treated on your forehead, nose, and under eyes; however, there will be a Profhilo under eye result.

You will feel a stinging sensation on injection and may wish to take simple over the counter analgesia prior to your appointment.

Post-Profhilo treatment

• Immediately after treatment, there will be small lumps on the face where the profile product has been injected; they will look like bee-stings and go down after around 30 minutes but can persist for up to 24 hours.
• Somerset Skin Care advises clients not to put any products, including makeup, over the area treated for at least 6 hours.
• You will be given full aftercare advice and booked in for any other session.

How long before you see results with Profhilo

Profhilo remains in the skin for about 28 days, in which time it continues to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin by slowly releasing the Hyaluronic Acid.

Results will be most visible after 4 weeks, with full effects visible at approximately 8 weeks; your skin will look youthful, hydrated and glowing.

Profhilo in conjunction with other treatments

• Profhilo can be used alongside other treatments, to further enhance the rejuvenating benefits.
• Combination treatments will need to be discussed within the pre-consultation where full assessment and medical history are incorporated into any decision making.
